Happy November…..already!
Market Update
We have received a few inquiries about the economy and the market since the Charles Schwab/TD Ameritrade merger, so I wanted to address that main question. The performance of both the stock and bond investments experienced a slight setback during the months of September and October. This dip in performance is not connected to the recent merger of Charles Schwab and TD Ameritrade. Rather, it is a reflection of the broader market conditions and fluctuations.
Despite these challenges, our dedicated team continues to monitor your investments closely. I would like to inform you that we have scheduled our upcoming Investment Committee meeting, which is set to take place next week. During this meeting, we will discuss several key points:
- **Tax Loss Harvesting in Non-Retirement Accounts:** We will explore opportunities for tax-efficient strategies to offset gains and optimize your tax liability.
- **Potential Portfolio Changes:** Our team will assess the need for adjustments to your investment portfolio based on your financial goals and risk tolerance.
- **Rebalancing:** We will evaluate the current allocation of assets in your portfolio to ensure it aligns with your long-term objectives.
Financial Guide
I would like to put a thought in your head surrounding the terms financial advisor, wealth advisor, investment advisor, financial planner, etc. In our office, we view ourselves as your financial guide. The investment world can be very complex, scary, crowded with other people's thoughts, and dangerous. It can also be very simple, beautiful, and rewarding.
Picture this……you are on a vacation and decide to take an excursion, maybe a deep-sea fishing trip or a hike to see a waterfall. In the example of the waterfall, you could simply google a nice trail and adventure out on your own. You would eventually get where you are going but would have to put much more effort in than if you hired a guide. A guide will help you get to the waterfall on an already proven trail, watch out for danger you may not see, recommend what steps to take over rocky terrain, teach you about the trees and flowers along the way, take your picture when you get there, maybe have a bottle of champagne or a picnic prepared, and do it in a more efficient manner than if you tried it on your own.
It’s the same when it comes to your money and investing. Think of our team at WFA as your personal financial guide on a tour!
Communication
We understand the importance of clear communication during times of market volatility. With that in mind, I urge you to subscribe to the YouTube Page with updates from our CIO, Rick Wedell. Rick provides additional insights on the market, our strategies, the economy, and all things you may see in the news.
If you have any questions or concerns in the meantime, please feel free to reach out to me or anyone at the office. We are here to address any inquiries you may have. Thank you for entrusting us with your financial well-being. We look forward to keeping you updated on the outcomes of our Investment Committee meeting and any actions we take to enhance your investment portfolio.
